AUSTIN, Texas - One man is dead after being hit by a car on I-35 in North Austin.
The man was hit on the southbound side of the highway near Parmer Lane just after 2:30 a.m.
Austin-Travis County EMS found the man along the side of the road and tried to save him but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police spoke with the driver of the car that was believed to be involved in the incident.
All southbound lanes of the highway were shut down for several hours but they've since opened back up.
