Joshua Kuroda-Grauer, infielder for the Athletics, is resting after suffering a ruptured testicle during Monday’s game against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Despite this, he managed to continue with the game and hit a single. He remained in the game until the bottom of the fifth.
He was later replaced at the bottom of the sixth inning to get checked out and eventually had to have emergency surgery, according to MLB.com.
