AUSTIN, Texas - An Austin man was arrested after he choked his girlfriend for spending time with her children rather than him.
According to Austin police, 33-year-old Dane Edward Kuffle was arrested on February 15 after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend by choking her.
An investigation lead by the Autin Police Department's Family Violence Unit found that on the night of February 14, Kuffle was upset with the victim, his girlfriend of 7 years, after she chose to spend the majority of her day with her children rather than Kuffle.
The two had argued about it before the victim went to work overnight. When she arrived home the next morning she had found her front door open.
According to police, when the victim entered the home, Kuffle grabbed her by the neck and pushed her into a wall. Using his right hand he then applied pressure on the victim's neck for approximately 15 seconds. Sara was able to scream which caused Kuffle to cease his actions.
The victim's adult daughter was able to hear the scream and called 911. The victim's four younger children were inside the house when Kuiffle assaulted her.
Kuffle was charged with assault strangulation family-violence, a third-degree felony.
