Austin Veterans Day Parade
It is a day to honor those who've served and are still serving our country.
AUSTIN, Texas - Thousands lined the streets of Congress Avenue Monday morning to say "thank you" to our veterans.
Austin's Veterans Day Parade is a tradition dating back 66 years according to the Parade Foundation.
City and State leaders, floats, marching bands and classic cars.
Diana Carbajal joined the Army in June 2008.
"My first deployment, I went to Iraq. That was a 15-month deployment and I came back for 9 months and then I deployed again to Afghanistan," she said.
Carbajal says she's hoping to make the Veterans Day Parade a family tradition.
"It's nice to see people come out and support us. Especially I feel like female veterans, we don't get a lot of spotlight so it's really nice when people acknowledge us too because there's a lot of women that served as well," Carbajal said.
