A weak tornado hit the ground in Lee County at around 12:30 p.m. and some damage has been reported. A tornado warning for Lee County was issued by the National Weather Service but the storm weakened and the warning expired at 1 p.m.

One person suffered minor injuries when the tornado blew through.

The tornado seemed to have stopped at a Ramada Motel on 290. Video footage shows debris littering the motel. The tornado blew through in a minute.

About fifty people are staying at the motel; they are with a company that is doing some work in town.

"I started hearing things. It sounded like hail at first but it became very obvious it was becoming serious very quick when I started hearing the tinny sound of the sheds and the metal and the sheds I knew I had a problem," said motel guest, Gary Smith.

Video obtained by FOX 7 was shot by Gary Fisher. He's one of those contractors staying here.

He told FOX 7 reporter Elizabeth Saab he went outside when he heard it. In the video he shot, you can see the tornado as it approaches. Authorities say the damage starts about a mile or so east of the Ramada. There are unconfirmed reports that it touched down about 12:15 p.m. and quickly made its way through this town

"All if a sudden we heard like a train passing by us and we went inside the pantry and the trees were swaying. We got scared," said Sam Longoria who lives nearby.

The owner wasn't at the motel when the tornado came through but FOX 7 did speak to her. She tells us there is some damage to the roof and everyone who was staying upstairs will be moved downstairs.

A funnel cloud from a separate system was also seen in Bastrop County in Cedar Creek at around 11 a.m. Several people near Cedar Creek High School have been sharing photos on social media.
