Disney has announced layoffs that will impact hundreds of employees, according to multiple reports.

The layoffs will largely impact employees in the tech and HR sectors, according to Deadline.
Though it’s been reported that hundreds will be cut from their jobs, the number of layoffs is still less than the two previous rounds from earlier this year.

The moves come amid a leadership transition at Disney, which had Josh D'Amaro take charge as CEO in March as the company faces a transformational period amid the rise of AI, shrinking box office revenue and intense competition from streaming rivals.

In April, Disney eliminated about 1,000 positions across the company's marketing group, which had been reorganized with some job cuts in January, as well as in other parts of the company including its studio and TV divisions, ESPN, products and technology and certain corporate functions.
Disney reportedly laid off several hundred employees in July, including at Pixar, ESPN, Disney Studios and Disney Entertainment Television.
The company also offered voluntary early retirement packages to longtime executives in August amid a restructuring push.
