Man arrested for stealing food truck trailer, pickup in North Austin: APD

Justin Williams, 43, was arrested for stealing a food truck trailer and pickup in North Austin on Dec. 11.

A man was arrested for the theft of a North Austin food truck trailer and pickup earlier this month, Austin police said.

Police said 43-year-old Justin Williams was arrested and booked into the Travis County Jail for the theft. A Travis County deputy contacted APD because he recognized Williams as the person shown in the surveillance video.

APD releases video of suspect in food truck theft

The Austin Police Department has released surveillance video of a man suspected in the Dec. 11 theft of a food truck trailer and pickup in North Austin.

APD said the theft happened in the early hours of Dec. 11 in the 9900 block of Research Boulevard.

The food truck trailer was later located by APD detectives after an investigation, and police said Williams altered it to hide its original design, police say. The stolen Dodge Ram 3500 dually heavy-duty pickup that was used to steal the trailer was also recovered.

Around the time of the food truck theft, surveillance video captured images of Williams entering a convenience store, shoplifting some items, and then leaving in the stolen pickup truck.
