Wild pursuit across the San Fernando Valley
A burglary suspect led the LAPD across the San Fernando Valley.
LOS ANGELES - The pursuit of a burglary suspect across the San Fernando Valley packed plenty of wild and bizarre moments.
What we know:
Authorities said the pursuit started in the North Hollywood area around 10:15 a.m. Friday. The suspect, driving a black Honda sedan, led officers across the Valley, including through North Hills, Van Nuys, and Granada Hills.
During the pursuit, the suspect stopped for gas, got into a confrontation with what appeared to be a delivery driver on a two-wheeler, and even entered and exited a mall parking garage.
It all came to an end when the suspect made a U-turn and traveled the wrong way in the southbound lanes of the 405 Freeway at Nordhoff Street in North Hills. Aerial images from SkyFOX showed the moment the suspect crashed head-on into a patrol car, ditched the vehicle, ran across freeway lanes, and was eventually tackled by officers before being taken into custody.
What we don't know:
The name of the suspect has not been released, and it’s unclear what specific charges he will face.
