Miss Jamaica health update as Miss Universe org addresses ‘speculation’

The Miss Universe Organization is sharing more information about the health of Miss Jamaica, who fell off the stage last week during the preliminary evening gown round. 

Dr. Gabrielle Henry was seen walking along the stage in a sequined orange dress, looking at the audience before falling off the main stage during the 2025 competition in Thailand.

What we know:

Miss Jamaica, Dr. Gabrielle Henry, fell from the Miss Universe stage last week and has been hospitalized since.

The Miss Universe Jamaica organization said she had not suffered any life-threatening injuries in the fall. 

Then, on Friday, her family said that she "isn’t doing as well as we would have hoped" and will be in the ICU for at least another week.

What we don't know:

Details of Henry’s injuries related to the fall and why she is still hospitalized in the ICU have not been shared.

What they're saying:

The Miss Universe organization said Monday that "difficult moments and unexpected concerns" had come up over the last few days, but had been successfully resolved. The organization said her latest medical report confirmed she is in good health and nearing discharge.

The organization did not elaborate on the details. 

"Out of respect for Dr. Henry and her family, the Organization maintains strict discretion regarding specific details of her medical status. We believe that matters concerning her health should be communicated only at the appropriate time and solely at the family’s discretion, or by Dr. Henry herself should she choose to do so," the organization shared on social media

The organization said Henry has been seen by several medical specialists to provide multiple professional assessments and "ensure full clarity" regarding her condition. 

The organization said it has also been paying for her treatment, and paid for her family to come and stay alongside her as well.
