Overnight shooting in North Austin leaves man dead

Austin police are looking for the suspect who killed a man in a shooting in North Austin early Friday morning.

The incident happened in the 11800 block of North Lamar Boulevard outside of a hookah and gaming lounge.

Police believe the suspect and the victim knew each other. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene and the suspect has still not been identified.

Businesses in the area were closed for several hours as the investigation was going on.

Police say they were near the area finishing up another case when they heard gun shots. Multiple officers showed and saw there was a car crashed into a palm tree. The victim who died was inside the car.

It's not clear what prompted the shooting but officers there was some kind of disturbance between the suspect and victim.

Multiple weapons were found inside the car where the victim was but police say the weapons may not belong to the victim.
