Forty people were rescued in open water by United States Coast Guard crews, and two individuals died after their boat capsized following a fight that involved a machete off Mona Island, which is 41 miles west of Puerto Rico.
Coast Guard officials stated in a release on Monday that survivors said there were roughly 60 people aboard the vessel.

This attack forced individuals to jump into the water as they attempted to swim to Mona Island.
Coast Guard officials noted that no one was wearing life jackets.
