"Pollmageddon" is here.

At least that's what one North Carolina resident is saying. Jeremy Gilchrist took stunning photos of tree pollen filling the air in Durham. He captioned the photos with the several hashtags, including #ThePollening and #Pollmageddon.

Gilchrist also said that there were "no tricks" used to take the photos and that the green haze pictured is from the pines of central North Carolina. Fox News said that a combination of high pollen levels and approaching storms caused the skies to be this color.

It's not getting much better for North Carolina, as the remainder of the week shows medium to high pollen levels, Fox 46 reported.
