Round Rock deadly crash: Police seeking info from public

Round Rock police are looking for leads regarding a fatal crash from over the weekend on I-35.

What we know:

Three people were killed in the crash on Sunday, June 29, around 2 a.m. on I-35 near Palm Valley Boulevard.

They have been identified by police as:

  • 38-year-old Agustin Guillen of Georgetown
  • 21-year-old Quinn Stegall of Round Rock
  • 49-year-old Maximo Ramirez of Greenville, TX

The crash involved three vehicles, police say, but investigators believe multiple vehicles were in the area at the time.

Police have also arrested 22-year-old Kearra Thomas of Belton. She has been charged with intoxication manslaughter.

Williamson County court records show she is still in the county jail as of July 1 and bond has been set at $300,000.

What they're saying:

Laura Duncan Stegall, Quinn’s mother, shared the following with FOX 7 after the crash:

"Of course I knew my Quinn was pretty awesome, but I am truly amazed at the enormous outpouring of kindness and support we have received. Her big smile and interest in helping others was always genuine. Friends, coworkers, teachers, and even people that she met briefly have shared their experiences with Quinn and I am forever grateful to know how she touched other people’s lives in specific ways. She lived and loved big and will continue to help others as a tissue donor and through a scholarship fund in her honor at Stony Point High School.

The comments of the person who took the lives of the victims hurt deeply. The reality is that she will at some point be released to continue living after taking that precious opportunity from others. I hope that she does "never forget what she saw" and when given the chance that other choices are made. I beg for better patrol of the I35 corridor especially at bar closing time. The speeding and reckless behaviors and lack of empathy for others is destroying lives. I am keeping the families of the other victims in my prayers."

What you can do:

Anyone who was traveling on northbound or southbound I-35 near Palm Valley Blvd around that time and may have witnessed the crash or observed anything unusual is asked to contact Detective Richard Maio at 512-341-3135 or rmaio@roundrocktexas.gov.
