Search continues for serial sexual assault suspect

Detectives in San Marcos believe the serial sexual assault suspect that is responsible for three of the sexual assaults over the last few weeks is still on the loose. The San Marcos Police Department is strongly urging all residents to stay cautious, lock your doors and windows and report any suspicious behavior.

According to the San Marcos Police Department, they determined during the course of their investigation that while 27-year-old Keith Vallen Louis III is connected to the sexual assault at The Edge apartments that occurred Monday, April 29, he is not connected to the additional assaults occurring at the Cottages and the Retreat within the last two weeks.

A woman was sexually assaulted at the Cottages of San Marcos on Wednesday, April 24. She believes the suspect was waiting and hiding in her bedroom before he threatened her with a handgun and assaulted her. Two women, who are roommates at the Retreat neighborhood, also reported to police that they had both been taken at gunpoint inside their apartment on Thursday, May 2.

"That gunman proceeded to bind them, assault them physically and sexually over the course of about two and a half to three hours. This crime almost identically matches the modus operandi of a crime committed about a week and a half ago last Wednesday,” said Police Chief Chase Stapp.

The San Marcos Police Department investigative team has just released a sketch of the assailant who they believe is tied to the three sexual assaults.

One of the victims saw his face and was able to give a description.

He is described as a black male, approximately 6’2” to 6’3” tall, last seen wearing a long sleeve black shirt, black pants, black gloves, and black mask covering his face/hair.

The San Marcos Police Department is strongly urge all residents to stay cautious, lock your doors and windows, and report any suspicious behavior. Anyone with information regarding the case is asked to contact Detective Campbell at 512-753-2312 or dcampbell@sanmarcostx.gov.
