Newly released surveillance video appears to show the final moments before a missing North Carolina mother disappeared near the Grenada resort where she was staying.
The backstory:
Elizabeth "Liz" Waddell, 43, vanished on July 22 after she was last seen walking along Grand Anse Beach. The Cary, North Carolina, physical therapist was on a three-week vacation with a friend when she disappeared after going for a swim, according to police.
What they're saying:
Video shared to YouTube by Waddell's family appears to show her walking near a pool while carrying a towel before heading toward the shoreline. Moments later, she appears to enter the water for a swim. The footage, reportedly captured by surveillance cameras at a nearby Airbnb property, may be the last known video of Waddell before she disappeared.
In a statement, Waddell's husband, Cailen Waddell, said the family has been unable to find her despite an extensive search.
"Despite our exhaustive efforts, we have not been successful. After careful and thoughtful consultation with family, local authorities, the U.S. Embassy, and others here in Grenada, I join authorities in believing there was no foul play."

During a news conference Wednesday, Royal Grenada Police Force Commissioner Randy Connaught said investigators have not reached any conclusions about what happened to Waddell.
Authorities have deployed dive teams, drones and search dogs as part of the ongoing search. Police said the investigation remains active, with detectives continuing to follow multiple leads while asking anyone with information about Waddell's disappearance to come forward.
