NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas - A report of a gun at a New Braunfels middle school prompted a lockdown.
The backstory:
The New Braunfels Police Department says that at around 9:15 a.m. it responded to a report of a gun on the campus of Canyon Middle School located on FM 1101.
The school was immediately placed on lockdown and officers from various agencies joined NBPD in the response.
A coordinated effort was then conducted as law enforcement officers systematically cleared the school.
No weapons or injuries were found.
Once all students and staff were accounted for and known to be safe, the lockdown was lifted, and the threat was deemed not credible.
Students were then reunited with their parents.
