An early morning shooting in Williamson County left one man in the hospital and investigators searching for the person who shot him.

Deputies were dispatched at 8:15 a.m. Thursday to the 15000 block of FM 620. The Sheriff’s Office said they received a 911 call from someone inside Edge Production Barbershop about a man with a gunshot wound in his left shoulder. The man was taken to Round Rock Saint David’s Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Patricia Gutierrez with Wilco Sheriff’s Office said the shooting victim told them the shooting began in Austin and ended at the barbershop.

“We believe this could be a criminal activity that went bad. The victim is claiming there was another vehicle shooting at him which was a white Jeep,” Gutierrez said. “We don’t believe this was a road rage incident we don’t believe the public is at risk.”

Gutierrez said the shooting victim was not cooperating with the investigators and could not identify the person who shot him or their relationship. However, he did tell them he was shot at multiple times and fired back.

Investigators are searching for the shooter and the weapon the shooting victim used to fire back.
