Former Bulldogs donated 750 books to North Carolina children
TARBORO, N.C. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - They might play on the opposite ends of the field now, but Todd Gurley and Malcolm Mitchell are forever Georgia Bulldogs. The former teammates joined forces once again Monday for the best possible reason.
Gurley and Mitchell handed out 750 books to elementary school students in Gurley’s hometown of Tarboro, North Carolina.
Gurley’s "In Life Make a Difference Every Day" organization and Mitchell's Share the Magic Foundation came together to donate the children’s book “The Magician’s Hat” along with a backpack from Sprayground backpacks.
The pair visited Stocks and Princeville elementary schools on Monday to distribute the gifts and a “raucous big-game-style rally for reading” was held with students reading aloud with the NFL players. The visits also featured an interactive student experience and a special magic show, with a live magician.
