JDRF gala to benefit type 1 diabetes research
AUSTIN, Texas (FOX 7 Austin) - There are currently some 29 million Americans living with diabetes and about 5 percent of those have type one. The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation is working to fund research that can find a cure for the disease.
The JDRF Austin chapter will be hosting The OneParty, a fundraiser including a golf tournament and a gala. The golf day starts at 8 a.m. at the Lions Municipal Golf Course with tee-off at 9 a.m. The day will end with an evening gala at the Austin American-Statesman with 6 p.m. cocktails, dinner at 8 p.m. and a 9:30 p.m. after-party with DJ Mel.
