Special Olympics 26th Annual Winter Games
ROUND ROCK, Texas (FOX 7 Austin) - Special Olympics Texas athletes from all across the state are competing in the 26th annual Winter Games.
The event began Jan. 31 and lasts until Feb. 3 and features a series of competitions in bowling, powerlifting and volleyball.
Events are held at various venues throughout the Central Texas area and are free and open to the public.
More than 2,500 athletes are expected to compete for medals.
All athletes, ranging from ages 8 - 72, have spent a minimum of eight weeks training.
