All clear given at Downtown Austin Community Court & Municipal Court after bomb threat
Authorities completed a sweep and gave an all clear at the Downtown Austin Community Court and Municipal Court following a bomb threat.
Both buildings were evacuated while APD Bomb Squad assessed the situation and and completed a sweep.
This came after the University of Texas Police Department said that the university received a non-specific, unverified email indicating a threat to the main building. It said that other governmental entities in the city also received similar threats.
UTPD reported that a sweep of the first floor of the main building was completed and an all clear was given. Officers are remaining in and around the building and officials are investigating but it is safe for employees and students.
