Austin Diaper Bank to hold ninth distribution for Central Texas families

ADB says they hold these diaper distribution events to help Central Texas families economically impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak.

“Even though the economy has opened on a limited basis, many of our neighbors are still struggling financially,” said ADB Executive Director Holly McDaniel. “Diapers can run $100 or more per child. Austin Diaper Bank public diaper distributions help families use some of the money they’d normally spend on diapers to instead meet other needs such as food or rent.”

The next distribution will occur on Friday, June 19 at ADB's North Austin warehouse located 8711 Burnet Road, Building B. The event will run from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. or until supplies run out. ADB will distribute diapers sized 1-6 to the public, 25 diapers per child.

Individuals who plan on coming to the event must stay in their vehicles and follow the signs and direction from Travis County Precinct 2 constables to the pickup area. Diapers only will be distributed to those in vehicles.

"ADB has distributed 240,000 diapers to 3,500 families during its eight prior public diaper distributions, in addition to the diapers it has continued to provide its partner agencies," ADB stated in a press release.

ADB is asking anyone who is sick to stay home and send someone else in their place. The organization also says that families in need of diapers can also contact one of their partners or can contact United Way by dialing 2-1-1.
