Austin police say they found the body while responding to a 'check welfare' call on 7th Street and I-35 Monday morning.

AUSTIN, Texas - Austin police are investigating after a body was found in downtown Austin.

Police say it started as a ‘check welfare’ call at 8:11 a.m.

When police arrived, they found a person dead under I-35 at East 7th Street.

Police say they are not investigating it as a homicide.

No other details were immediately available.
