OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - A cat’s frantic attempt to dodge a vet visit in Kansas ended in a dramatic rescue after it became trapped inside a recliner, forcing firefighters to cut the chair apart to free the unharmed pet.

Police said the cat was uninjured and, despite its attempts to avoid it, ultimately made it to the vet for its annual checkup.
