Hays Co. deputy injured in major crash

A deputy with the Hays County Sheriff's Office was injured in a multi-vehicle crash Thursday morning in Dripping Springs.

A Hays County Sheriff's Deputy is among the people injured in a multi-car crash in Dripping Springs.

According to DPS, at approximately 8:16 a.m., Texas DPS troopers responded to a multiple vehicle crash on US 290 near Headwaters.

DPS says the crash involved a Hays County Deputy vehicle, an 18-wheeler and multiple other vehicles.

DPS says two people were taken to a south Austin hospital, including the Hays County Deputy. 

No life-threatening injuries are expected, and no major injuries were reported.

All eastbound lanes were shut down and only one lane was open westbound, as the Texas Department of Public Safety investigates the crash.

The road reopened as of 11:30 a.m.
