Early morning fire in Central Austin

Firefighters are trying to figure out what caused an early morning fire in Central Austin. It started around 5 a.m. in the 500 block of West 14th Street in a commercial building.

Crews arrived to find heavy fire in the back of the building. It was quickly put out but caused damage to the outside, inside and attic of the business.

No one was hurt.

Firefighters say this is a good time to remind everyone to make sure you have a working smoke detector in your home or office. If you can't afford it crews will come out and install it for you free of charge.
