Fake money could be floating around Llano County
LLANO, Texas (FOX 7 Austin) - The Llano County Law Enforcement Center is asking the community to be on the look out for fake money after deputies discovered several fake 100 dollar bills during a traffic stop.
The most noticeable difference, between these and our U.S. currency, were the red Chinese markings on the front and back of the bills, according to deputies. Another immediately noticeable difference is the weight and feel of the paper.
Bills that are marked like the ones that are believed to be floating around Llano County are actually used in China for training Chinese bank tellers in American currency. They're also used as prop money.
If you are passed any of these bills, call the Llano County Law Enforcement Center at 325-247-5767.
