FOX 7 Discussion: Federal Government remains closed over border security
AUSTIN,Texas (FOX 7 Austin) - Republicans and Democrats are at a stalemate.
A partial shutdown of the federal government has entered its third week.
Now as both sides duke out whether to include border security funding in the new budget.
Is a wall necessary?
And, which side will give in first?
President Trump is demanding $5 billion for his border wall.
But, Democrats refuse to pass a budget with any money for that.
FOX 7 Austin’s Rebecca Thomas talked to Travis County GOP chairman Matt Mackowiak and, Glenn Smith from Progress Texas about the effects of the partial government shutdown and how long it will be until the sides can come to a compromise.
