FOX-7 Discussion: State Legislature Continually Pushes Back Against Austin's Ordinances

AUSTIN, Texas - It's no secret, that Austin has a more progressive approach to legislation than most of Texas.

The city often gets pushback from the Texas legislature on ordinances it passes.

Two years ago, the city of Austin imposed rules on ride-hailing companies including Uber and Lyft only to have the state lawmakers pass legislation over-riding those rules.

There's a chance we will run into a similar situation with the paid sick leave ordinance.
