Man arrested in connection with Kendra Scott burglary

The Austin Police Department has made an arrest in the burglary of the flagship Kendra Scott store on South Congress.

Raymond Patrick Hernandez, 44, has been arrested and charged with felony burglary of a building.

The burglary happened at 3:48 a.m. on April 2 and security camera footage showed a man, later identified by police as Hernandez, wearing all black with white tennis shoes and a black baseball hat.

In the video, the burglar got inside the store and broke glass display cases, grabbing jewelry and stuffing it all into a bag. He broke multiple cases before leaving and was in the store for about 40 seconds.

Kendra Scott issued this statement after the burglary:

 Bond has been set for Hernandez at $70,000.
