Man killed when struck in Leander roadway by truck

LEANDER, Texas - A man lying in the road was struck and killed by a truck Monday evening in Leander.

The Leander Police Department says they responded to a report of a vehicle striking a pedestrian in the 500 block of Horizon Park Boulevard near US 183 around 7:45 p.m. on October 14.

Leander police say a 70-year-old woman was driving her gray Ford pickup truck southbound when her truck struck a man lying in the road.

The woman remained on scene and police say she cooperated with officers. The man was transported to St. David's Round Rock Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.

Leander police say the driver showed no signs of intoxication.

The investigation is ongoing and criminal charges have not been filed at this time.
