Round Rock Express celebrates first responders work with appreciation night

Dell Diamond was packed with Round Rock Express fans and families of Central Texas first responders Thursday night. The game between Round Rock Express and the Memphis Redbirds also served as big thank you to first responders.

The game began with first pitch from notable emergency officials such as Williamson County Sheriff Robert Chody and Austin Travis County EMS Captain Matt Paul. K-9's took to the outfield and first responders parked their vehicles in front of Dell Diamond. During the game the crowd took a moment to recognize children and families of fallen first responders.

Proceeds from the event went to WATCH (We are the children of heroes) which honors families of fallen police officers, EMS and firefighters. WATCH is part of 22 KILL whose mission is, "to create a community that raises awareness and combats suicide by empowering veterans, first responders, and their families through traditional and non-traditional therapies.
