Round Rock police arrest man for allegedly shooting another driver in northeast Round Rock

ROUND ROCK, Texas - The Round Rock Police Department has made an arrest in a crash involving gunfire in northeast Round Rock Sunday night.

Xavier Gutierrez was arrested Thursday morning on a previous Travis County warrant for credit card abuse and has since been charged with aggravated assault.

Police say Gutierrez randomly shot at another driver from a vehicle without provocation around 11 p.m. in the 1300 block of N. AW Grimes Boulevard.

The other driver sustained a gunshot wound to the head, which resulted in their pickup truck rolling over and crashing into an electrical pole.

The driver was transported to the hospital and is in stable condition.

Round Rock police says Gutierrez has previous arrest history.
