Voters to decide on constitutional amendments & propositions on Election Day

Many people in Austin and Travis County will be heading to the polls today. Polls opened at 7 a.m.

Voters will be casting their ballots to decide several hot topics. You can get a look at what exactly is on the ballot here.

There are 10 statewide constitutional amendments that voters should be concerned about and some big propositions as well.

FOX 7 Austin: Local propositions on ballot on Election Day

Travis County GOP executive director Brian Ruddle and Progress Texas advocacy director Sam Robles join Mike Warren to discuss local propositions on the ballot this Election Day.

Austin voters will see Proposition A which would decide whether the city should require voter and majority council member approval for the sale of lease of land for things like sports complexes and entertainment venues.

Prop B will leave the fate of the Convention Center expansion plan in the hands of voters.

Another Travis County proposition is about expansion and rennovation of the Expo Center.

There's also a new voting system in place.

New system for early voting

Travis County Clerk Dana DeBeauvoir has all the details on early voting and the new system in place that voters will use.

Early voting began on October 21. You can also get information about the election by heading to VoteTexas.gov.
