Williamson County lifts county-wide burn ban

A burn ban for unincorporated areas of Williamson County has been lifted. The ban had been in place since August.

The ban was put in place in response to an increase risk in fire potential over the next few days.

County Judge Bill Gravell lifted the ban today (10/14).

Officials still advise people to be cautious with any outdoor burning activity.

Prior to conducting control burns, people are asked to take the following steps:

  • Please contact your local fire department – Some fire departments may require a Burn Permit.
  • Please contact Williamson County Communications – Please call and report your control burn to Williamson County Communications at (512) 864-8282 and press 3, then 1. Williamson County Communications should be able to inform you of any burning restrictions that Williamson County Communications has been made aware of and that may exist.
