Do vitamins and dietary supplements help or hurt kids?

Dietary supplements are often implicated in preventable adverse drug events in children and adolescents,1 yet current data on their use in this population are lacking. A new study by JAMA Pediatrics shows that about one third of American kids take some sort of dietary supplement. 

However, they may not help and might even pose health problems.
