APD releases composite sketch of suspect who assaulted woman along greenbelt

 The Austin Police Department has released a composite sketch of the suspect who assaulted a woman along the Barton Creek Greenbelt earlier this month. 

The victim, a woman in her mid-twenties, was assaulted in the 8300 block of Spicewood Springs Road on Monday, October 7. 

The victim agreed to meet with the suspect around 12:30 p.m., according to police. They walked into the wooded area off the greenbelt path where they proceeded to have consensual sexual intercourse during which the suspect assaulted the victim causing non-life threatening injuries.

The victim was able to get away from the suspect.

She ran out of the greenbelt to a nearby house and called 911.

The identity of the suspect is unknown at this time.

An older-model, silver car was seen in the area just before the time of the assault. It is unknown if the vehicle is related to this case.
