Attorney General Ken Paxton says Plastic Bag Ban Violates State Law

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is going after 11 cities across the state that have a plastic bag ban in place.

He sent a letter to the cities, telling city officials that this practice is violating state law.

The cities include Austin and Sunset Valley.  Also, several cities along the gulf coast and the border.  

The letters mention the recent Texas Supreme Court ruling that said the bag ban in Laredo is illegal.

According to Paxton’s letter, the bag ban helps cities "pass their duty to manage solid waste on to residents and retailers" and that's against state
