Austin ISD offering free adult ESL classes
AUSTIN, Texas (FOX 7 Austin) - Austin ISD's Department of School, Family and Community Education is offering free adult English as a Second Language (ESL) classes this fall.
Classes are available for beginner, intermediate and advanced levels.
Students must comply with the following criteria to be eligible:
- Student must be at least 19 on date of enrollment
- Student needs a government-issued photo ID (can be from any country or state)
- Student may not be in the US on an F1 or B1 visa
- Student is able to attend at two out of every three classes weekly
- Student must attend all registration, orientation and assessment activities
- Student must attend every day during the first week of classes
- Student must take a post-test after 60 hours of attendance
Austin ISD offers both morning and evening classes at campuses throughout the district with some occurring now. Registration dates for fall are through September.
