Austin man arrested for stealing multiple catalytic converters

An Austin man was arrested in connection to stealing multiple catalytic converters and the possession of narcotics.

Round Rock police said on Dec. 16, around 1:30 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop near the 600 block of McNeil Road.

During the stop, officers found several catalytic converters, tools commonly used in the theft of those items, and narcotics.

Christopher Smith, 32, of Austin, was taken into custody and booked into the Williamson County Jail. 

He is charged with possession of a controlled substance, unauthorized possession of a catalytic converter, and unlawful use of a criminal instrument.
