Autistic woman in Round Rock found safe
ROUND ROCK, Texas (FOX 7 Austin) - Missing 27-year-old autistic woman Tonia Henderson has been found safe, says the Round Rock Police Department.
Henderson was found in a parked vehicle in the 1200 block of Old Settlers Boulevard around 3:30 p.m. March 31 while officers were canvassing the residences, Round Rock PD said in a release. Henderson was checked out by EMS and reported to be in good health.
Round Rock Police Commander Jim Stuart thanked residents for "keeping an eye out, helping to spread the word, praying, and offering to do whatever was needed."
“It was inspiring to see Round Rock neighbors and regional law enforcement agencies come together to return Tonia to her family," Stuart said in the release.
Henderson was reported missing on March 29 around 1 p.m. and last seen near Old Settlers Boulevard and Mesa Park Drive.
Round Rock PD enlisted the help of numerous agencies and resources in the more than 48-hour search, including Texas Search and Rescue helicopters and boats, an Austin Police helicopter, a Williamson County drone, Round Rock, Georgetown, and Cedar Park fire departments, Round Rock Emergency Management, Williamson County Emergency Services, and multiple K9 units, including one from the Hutto Police Department.
