Building fire in Central Austin

Crews responded to a fire in Central Austin this morning. The fire was reported at around 3:30 a.m. at a business on Hancock Drive near Bull Creek Road directly across from the Austin Memorial Park Cemetery.

The fire was knocked out fairly quickly. The business was closed at the time the fire started.

The Austin Fire Department believes the fir may have started at a small shed and that it quickly spread to the two buildings right next to it.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

No injuries were reported. The fire is estimated to have caused about $25,000 worth of damage.
