Cedar Park pawn shop burglary suspects arrested

Cedar Park police say two suspects in a pawn shop burglary on September 17th have been arrested.

The burglary happened just before 10 p.m. at the Cash America Pawn located at 510 S. Bell Boulevard.

Officers arrived to find the front glass door smashed and the lock on the gate leading behind the business cut. All breakers in the electrical box had also been turned off. 

While the investigation was going on at Cash America Pawn other officers were checking other pawn shops in the city. When officers pulled up to the Action Pawn at 2149 S. Bell Boulevard two males took off running.

After about an hour, police located Cristwell Mathes and after questioning the 23-year-old he admitted to being at the Cash America Pawn earlier. He was arrested and charged and also had two outstanding warrants.

The second suspect, 23-year-old Elijah Johnson was found a short time later and after questioning admitted to the burglary at Cash America Pawn. Johnson's shoes he was wearing matched shoe prints found at the Cash America Pawn scene as well.

Police say the investigation continues.
