Central Texas braces for some serious weather changes

Travis County is about to see some big weather changes

The cold front arrives in Austin around 1 p.m. on Monday, October 11. Temperatures will go from the 70's to 40's this afternoon, with wind chills in the 20's this evening and teens in the morning. There is also a wind advisory in effect from 2 p.m. today to 6 a.m. Tuesday, October 12.

Wind gusts of 30 to 40mph are likely.

There is also a chance of wintry mix, like sleet and freezing rain, in the Hill Country between 6 p.m. and 4 a.m.

A hard freeze is likely for the entire area Tuesday and Wednesday morning.
