A dad's touching and creative idea to make sure his 3-year-old daughter didn't miss out on Halloween because of a cross-country flight to the Bay Area is going viral.

The story was brought to light on twitter by fellow passenger Stephanie Kahan.

On an overnight Virgin American flight from Boston to SFO Monday night, Stephanie was in her seat when a man gave her a piece of candy with a note taped to it.

The note read:

"My 3-year-old daughter, Molly, was bummed that she wouldn't be able to go trick-or-treating this year due to this flight... so I decided to bring trick-or-treating to her."

"If you are willing, when my little donut comes down the aisle, please drop this in her basket.  You'll be making her Halloween!  If you're unwilling, no worries, just pass the treat back to me.  Thanks so much!"

Stephanie tweeted out a picture of the note and a picture of Molly coming down the plane's aisle in a donut costume.

As of 6:15a.m. that tweet has since been retweeted over 60,000 times and like more than 101,000 times.

Stephanie doesn't remember the man's name but called him 'Dad of the year' said that he was taking a "much-needed nap" while Molly was trick-or-treating at 30,000 feet.
