FBI investigating suspicious package at IRS building

The FBI is now handling the investigation into the suspicious package reported at the IRS building along I-35 and Ben White, according to the Austin Police Department. 

A suspicious package was opened at the IRS building in the 3600 block of the northbound service road for I-35 and an unknown airborne substance was released, according to FBI San Antonio. Two adult females were transported to Dell Seton with non-life threatening complaints for evaluation and medical treatment, according to ATCEMS.

Their conditions are not known at this time.

Meanwhile, the suspicious package was taken to a lab for testing.

Responders with Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services, the Austin Fire Department, and the Austin Police Department also responded to the reports of the suspicious package.
