Stony Point HS lockdown lifted after report of suspicious student on campus: RRISD

ROUND ROCK, Texas - Stony Point High School is no longer on lockdown, says Round Rock ISD.

According to the district, the school was placed on lockdown Tuesday afternoon due to a report of a suspicious student on campus, possibly carrying a weapon.

Law enforcement responded to the campus and did a "thorough sweep" of the campus and found the student in question. RRISD says officers determined there was no threat to the campus.

All students and staff are safe, and the lockdown was lifted as of 4:51 p.m. Dec. 10. 

The campus is dismissing students as normal with buses resuming drop-off procedures. Parents and guardians are also now able to come to campus to pick up their students.

Round Rock ISD police officers are remaining on campus at all exits while students are being dismissed, says the district.

Good afternoon, Stony Point Community,

Thank you for your cooperation while our police looked into a report of a suspicious student on campus, possibly carrying a weapon.

Out of an abundance of caution, the campus was placed into Lockdown while police searched for the student. After a thorough sweep of the buildings, officers located the suspicious student and determined that there was no threat to our campus.

All students and staff are safe.

The lockdown has been lifted, and we will dismiss students as normal. Buses will resume drop-off, and families may come to campus to pick up their students.

We are grateful to the student who reached out to share this information, and we are thankful for the support of our law enforcement partners.

We take the safety of our students and staff very seriously. Round Rock ISD officers will remain on campus and at all exits while students are being dismissed.
