Financial infidelity? 1-in-5 Americans keep hidden finance account from live-in spouse or partner

Your significant other might be keeping a significant financial secret.

CreditCards.com says 29 million Americans are hiding a checking, savings or credit card account from their live-in spouse or partner. That amounts to about one-in-five people who are married or living with a partner.

The report says it also found that 20 percent of consumers believe financial infidelity is worse than physical infidelity.

According to CreditCards.com, only 2 percent of the adults in relationships surveyed said they would break up with their significant others if they discovered their partners had $5,000 in secret credit card debt.
