Bell Helicopters showed off its new "flying car" prototype at the Las Vegas Consumer Electronics Show.

The Fort Worth-based company said the Nexus has a hybrid-electric propulsion system. It uses tilting fans to take off and land.

Bell is teaming up with Uber to develop vehicles for an air taxi service.

The plan is to begin limited service in Dallas sometime next year.
