FOX 7 Debates: Iowa Caucus review
The first contest , in the long road to the White House, is now in the books. There were big surprises in both parties during the Iowa Caucuses, Monday night.
On the republican side: Texas senator Ted Cruz won his party's Iowa Caucus with 27.6%. Donald Trump came in at second place with 24.3% and Marco Rubio was just a hair away from Trump -- with 23.1%.
On the democratic side: It was a virtual tie between Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders but on Tuesday, Clinton was officially been declared the winner in that contest by the Iowa Democratic Party. She just edged Sanders -- with 49.8% to Sanders' 49.6%.
Joining FOX 7's Rebecca Thomas to discuss the results are J.D. Gins, the executive director of the Travis County Democrats, and James Dickey, chairman of the Travis County Republicans.
